Our cat Rajah loves to show off his food bowl to anyone who visits us. Today he made it clear that he wanted me to take a picture of it so that he could show it off to the internet as well.
This is a cat who hates to dine alone. Hates it. He will beg anyone in the house who will listen to him to come with him to his food bowl to watch him eat.
He will look over his shoulder to make sure his guest is still there, and if you are rude enough to wander off before he is done eating, he will chase you down and insist with loud meows that you go back.
After today, my posts with pictures will become much more infrequent. The changes to Lynn Kilmore as my pen name were crashed through for the 2nd edition ebooks during the last two weeks (instead of taking 3 months as originally scheduled), and it’s now been pointed out to me that my blogging is taking time and energy away from finishing the edit to the sequel for Cubicles, Blood, and Magic. I need to get cracking on finishing the latest round of editing on that manuscript and turn it in.
So there will be pictures … just less frequently.

The internet, of course, was created so that cat videos and pictures could be easily shared (huge grin–I’m kidding). I realized it’d been several weeks since I last posted a picture of Rajah, so here’s one of him with a slight “glow” to his eyes.
He is doing well despite being almost 13 years of age. He had to have dental surgery last week, but is recovering well and has a great time getting in front of my computer screens every chance he can.
As I’ve already blogged about, my pen name is changing this year from L. M. May to Lynn Kilmore. There’s a Goodreads Giveaway for a signed copy of Soul Cages that will end right about midnight on June 9th. This will be the last time that a print copy of the 1st edition is offered in a giveaway under that old pen name of L. M. May.
A second edition of the novel is going to be coming out in August 2014 with the new pen name on it.
Click here for the Goodreads Giveaway link.
Have a great week.

Here’s a picture of Rajah doing what he does best at the office: blocking access to a computer.
As far as I can figure out, cats consider it their job as cat supervisors to make sure a chosen human in the household can’t reach their keyboard or see their screen without first petting the cat.
Maybe it’s a secret stress reduction program to help out humans … though it gets stressful if I’m in the middle of a Skype meeting and can’t see the computer screen because Rajah is sitting up straight right in front of it.
I’ve noticed keyboards are another favorite target of cat supervisors–to lay on … to randomly walk across the keys to send off a strange garbled message to business colleagues … and to shed on the keyboard so that the keys are coated in cat hair.
Our dog KC gets rather jealous of Rajah’s ability to demand attention from a human by jumping up in front of the computer screen. KC is an 80-lb German Shepherd mix, so safely jumping up on a computer desk is out of the question and she knows it. So instead she whines in complaint at Rajah when he perches on the desk. It sort of sounds like the dog version of, “Get down from there. You’re not supposed to be on the keyboard. You’re going to get in trouble.”
Rajah really seems to enjoy watching KC from above where she can’t go, and will look rather smug about it.
Hmm, Rajah is letting me know as a I type this that it’s time to bring this blog post to a close. I admit I find writing about pets and nature very soothing since the fiction I write tends to be very serious in mood and plot.
May you all find something that helps you to relax.
See you next week. And there will be major news coming soon about the fiction writing side of things, but I plan to do those as blog posts that are separate from the nature and pet stuff.

The cherry blossoms are in bloom here in New Mexico and other parts of the Southwestern United States. Here’s a picture of blossoms outside my home office.
Rajah, our cat, is all excited about the cherry trees blooming, because it means the robins are back for 2014. He loves to stare out the office windows to watch them hop around in the cherry trees. He gets great exercise from all the leaping up and down to the office windowsills each day.
Cherry trees are a definite bird magnet (for obvious reasons). The robins and wood doves make sure each year that we don’t have cherries that go rotten on the ground or in the trees. They strip the trees clean, but we are usually able to pick enough cherries for ourselves beforehand that we don’t mind that the birds are eating up the rest.
The blossoms have a sweet (but not overpowering) smell that is wonderful. Their petals are very soft and delicate, and soon will fall like confetti when the spring winds blow.
May you all find something wonderful in nature to look at this week.
Until next time, L

This is Rajah. He was given that name by his previous owner, and it suits him very, very well.
Rajah decided that he wanted to live with us about 18 months ago, and made it clear that he was going to move in with us and KC, our dog, whether we wanted him to or not.
He ran off from his owner three times (crossing roads with 6 lanes of traffic to reach our neighborhood) and after the third time we all finally gave in and let him have his way. He moved in, and has fun bossing KC the dog around, and putting his tail on my writing keyboard so that I can’t type.
He gets fussy if I don’t go in the home office at least for an hour or two each day, so I consider him my Cat Supervisor. KC is my Dog Supervisor, but she’s much more lenient about my work schedule.
The cherry blossoms have begun to bloom. I’ll see about posting a picture next week. Rajah loves jumping in the windows stare at the robins in the cherry tree. There will also be more about Rajah and KC in the following weeks.
May you all find joy in something you do this week.
