A Few Pictures of Cats in Israel

I saw a lot of cats while traveling through Israel . I thought this week I’d share a few of the pictures I took. (There were very few dogs I met or could take pictures of. Sorry dog lovers.)

Enjoy! Lynn

Photo 4 (my favorite): Cat hanging out in the plaza next to the Western Wall in Jerusalem. As far as this cat is concerned, the Western Wall belongs to cats.

Photo 5: Cat walking along the paths on top of the Damascus Gate, Jerusalem. From the ramparts of this gate the Old City looked so peaceful … but on the ground there was so much heartbreak for everyone who lives there. (Heard earlier today about the deaths at this gate :() … It’s tricky to see the cat in this photo due to its fur blending in with the stones so well.

Rajah Shows Off His Food Bowl

Rajah showing off his food bowl by Lynn KilmoreOur cat Rajah loves to show off his food bowl to anyone who visits us. Today he made it clear that he wanted me to take a picture of it so that he could show it off to the internet as well.

This is a cat who hates to dine alone. Hates it. He will beg anyone in the house who will listen to him to come with him to his food bowl to watch him eat.

Picture of Rajah staring at himself in mirror by Lynn KilmoreHe will look over his shoulder to make sure his guest is still there, and if you are rude enough to wander off before he is done eating, he will chase you down and insist with loud meows that you go back.

After today, my posts with pictures will become much more infrequent. The changes to Lynn Kilmore as my pen name were crashed through for the 2nd edition ebooks during the last two weeks (instead of taking 3 months as originally scheduled), and it’s now been pointed out to me that my blogging is taking time and energy away from finishing the edit to the sequel for Cubicles, Blood, and Magic. I need to get cracking on finishing the latest round of editing on that manuscript and turn it in.

So there will be pictures … just less frequently.

Cheers, Lynn

KC and Rajah in Early July 2014

KC with bandage on legKC developed a hot spot on her ankle that she proceeded to lick too much, and so the vet had to bandage the spot to keep her off it.

It’s healing.

This week’s bandage wrapper color is pink.

Today KC also decided to liven the household up by jumping on the bed that Rajah (our cat) was dozing on. Rajah proceeded to roll over to get farther away from her … and rolled right off the bed onto the carpet.

Rajah is fine. Only his dignity was injured.KC in the sunlight

The desert heat is getting intense during the middle of the day, but KC still has a good time outside in the early mornings and evenings. She loves to roll in the dead grass spots to get a good dirt bath.

It’s good to be reminded that the simple things in life can be the most fun.

Until next week… Cheers, Lynn

Rajah Poses for the Camera (Part Two) and a Goodreads Giveaway

Picture of Rajah with slightly glowing eyesThe internet, of course, was created so that cat videos and pictures could be easily shared (huge grin–I’m kidding). I realized it’d been several weeks since I last posted a picture of Rajah, so here’s one of him with a slight “glow” to his eyes.

He is doing well despite being almost 13 years of age. He had to have dental surgery last week, but is recovering well and has a great time getting in front of my computer screens every chance he can.

As I’ve already blogged about, my pen name is changing this year from L. M. May to Lynn Kilmore. There’s a Goodreads Giveaway for a signed copy of Soul Cages that will end right about midnight on June 9th. This will be the last time that a print copy of the 1st edition is offered in a giveaway under that old pen name of L. M. May.

A second edition of the novel is going to be coming out in August 2014 with the new pen name on it.

Click here for the Goodreads Giveaway link.

Have a great week.

Cheers, Lynn

KC Watching For Pigeons

Picture of KC the dog in grass.KC considers it her mission to keep the doves and pigeons out of the back yard. Here’s a picture of her looking around to see what needs to be done.

I’ve noticed that she leaves the robins and chickadees alone, though.

We live in a city, so pigeons are a major problem in our neighborhood. She almost never catches a pigeon … except for one time, when a pigeon got too lazy and careless to fly away, and she caught it.

And yes, she ate half of the dead pigeon, but then she brought the other half to us to share with us.

Our cat Rajah loves to sit in a windowsill when KC is outside so that he can watch her rummaging through the grass. I think he finds her amusing to watch. He seems to be smirking at her about her escapades.

KC found a dead wood dove during a walk a week ago, and proudly carried it home in her mouth to show off to all of us. My husband said that all the drivers slowed down their cars to gape at KC parading down the sidewalk with the dead dove sticking out of her mouth.

She’s a good dog, and dropped the dead wood dove on the front porch, then ran on into the house. That made it easier for us to grab rubber gloves and get rid of the carcass before she decided to eat it.

It’s nice to know she likes to provide for the family.

Until next week… Cheers, Lynn
